The three axes behind the twelve seasons
Seasonal color analysis sounds mystical, but it rests on three plain measurements of your natural coloring. Temperature is whether your coloring leans warm (golden) or cool (blue-based). Value is whether it is overall light or deep. Chroma is whether it is bright and clear or soft and muted. Every one of the twelve seasons is just a particular combination of those three.
The four base seasons anchor the corners: Spring is warm and bright, Summer is cool and soft, Autumn is warm and deep, Winter is cool and bright. Each then splits into three, a true version plus two that borrow a trait from a neighbor, which is where Light, Deep, Bright, and Soft come from. This tool reads your three tapped colors onto the axes and picks the closest fit, then shows you the reading so nothing is hidden.

Guide
Getting a reading you can trust
- Shoot in even, indirect daylight, facing a window. Skip overhead and colored light.
- Get your hair and both eyes in the frame, no filter or heavy edit.
- Tap bare skin, the iris (not the pupil or white), and a mid-tone of hair.
- If temperature is hard to call, run the undertone finder first and come back.
For fun, not a medical or diagnostic tool, and not a substitute for a professional in-person color analysis. Lighting and camera strongly shape the result, so treat it as a fun starting point.
FAQ
Common questions
- What is the difference between this and the undertone finder?
- The undertone finder answers one axis, warm versus cool, from your skin alone. The season analysis adds value and chroma, and uses eyes and hair too, to place you in one of twelve fuller palettes.
- My result sits between two seasons. Is that normal?
- Yes. Many people are near a boundary, which is exactly what the "true versus leaning" split is for. A lower confidence label means you are close to a line; try another photo to see which way it settles.
- Can I use the palette right away?
- Copy any swatch in your palette or neutrals, or download the share card. The colors are ordinary hex values you can take into the palette tools, a shopping list, or a mood board.
