More than a random hex
Most random color tools hand you a bare hex code and stop there. This one runs each roll through the full engine: you get the color's closest human name from a set of 31,912, its RGB and HSL, the best readable text color, and its contrast on white and black, all at once. It is a fast way to find a starting point and know immediately whether you can put text on it.
Press the space bar to roll again, lock a color to hold it while you compare, and glance at the history strip to grab one you scrolled past. When something clicks, open its full page for palettes, harmonies, tints and shades, and export snippets. Everything runs on your device, and nothing is stored beyond the current session.
Designers use random color as a creativity primer, a way to break out of the same three brand colors and discover a hue they would not have reached for. Developers use it to seed test data or placeholder UI. Either way, having the name and contrast right there turns a novelty into a real tool.
